Stand & Be Counted are proud to present a new work by Maha Al-Omari this Refugee Week. Maha’s piece will exhibit as part of Window’s on the World, a city wide exhibition celebrating the work of local sanctuary seekers and organisations for Refugee Week. You can enjoy Maha’s artwork in all it’s glory at Bradford 2025 Centenery Square.

Maha Al-Omari

Maha is an artist and filmmaker from Yemen. Her interest in art began at an early age and she helped set up the first art house in Taiz, her home city. Her skills range from film storyboards to character design and 2D animation. Maha’s work explores human rights and gender equality. She is Project Manager for City of Sanctuary's Maternity Stream and is a huge support to families in Bradford. Maha regularly collaborates with Stand & Be Counted and we are thrilled to commission her for this year's Refugee Week, to celebrate Bradford and everyone who makes this place a home. Perhaps you can spot some familiar faces and spaces?
