young people aged 16-25 from across the globe now living in Sheffield for a brand new PERFORMANCE and FILM event at Festival of the Mind.

In partnership with filmmakers Asma Kabadeh and Sean Lovell and the University of Sheffield we have been collaborating with an incredible group of young people to explore the world they want for their futures and creativity can bring people together and build communities. The work focuses on the power of young people as artists sharing their experiences of building their lives in South Yorkshire. An interactive session will share ideas on how to support more inclusive spaces for young people and young migrants, and the role of arts in building belonging.

We Need Change

Across weekly sessions our Youth Theatre of Sanctuary have been exploring a range of making techniques to create ‘the best show ever!’ Children aged 3-15 have choreographed dance routines and movement sequences, devised scenes, written speeches, poems and songs and designed artwork for sets, costume and interactive projection. Together is the first time young people seeking sanctuary have made work for the UK main stage and we can’t wait for what’s next!
