Sanctuary 27 - Programme Development Producer
The role with Stand and Be Counted Theatre and City of Sanctuary Sheffield is an incredible opportunity to be part of a dynamic and purpose driven team responsible for marking 20 years since Sheffield became the first City of Sanctuary in the UK.
To mark this key moment in our history we envisage a dispersed, year-long, community-led celebration and reaffirmation of Sanctuary in Sheffield. A celebration that everyone in the city can be part of and a pioneering reaffirmation of our collective commitment to being a place of safety and welcome.
Who are we looking for?
This is a dynamic opportunity for a professional, motivated and purpose driven individual to develop and cultivate a wide-range of arts and community events across Sheffield. From establishing strong relationships with artistic companies, planning for future fundraising and leading the development of the programme, to coordinating site licences, staffing and logistics schedules, to on the ground delivery.
This role will work alongside a Community Inspiration Coordinator.
A confident communicator, meticulous planner and driver of positive change and social justice, you'll interact with key stakeholders across Sheffield, you’ll have excellent organisational skills to manage a varied and exciting workload.
Remuneration
There is a fee of £16,000 for the this role, which we expect to be a freelance position; 4 days per week for 6 months. Further remuneration is dependant on future fundraising. We are flexible, so please do share working arrangements that would work best for your circumstances.
Essential criteria
A passion for empowering people seeking sanctuary to instil positive change in their lives and wider community
A proven track record of being committed and reliable when working with people seeking sanctuary and local communities
Experience of managing and delivering creative projects from start to finish
Strong organisational skills and including experience of managing budgets, writing project plans, reports, and evaluations.
Ability to work within clear timelines, sometimes unsupervised and under your own initiative.
Be Sheffield based (or within close proximity)
Experience and background
Demonstrable experience working in a project-based, arts / community producing role;
Demonstrable experience in fundraising for programmes and projects of scale;
Excellent accuracy and administrative skills with a meticulous attention to detail;
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with team members, stakeholders and artists;
Proven experience working and sustaining relationships with external partners;
Experience of sustainable best practices and environmental reporting;
Experience of leading on participatory and engagement projects;
Experience with financial processes, including budgeting and reconciliation of expenditure;
A passion for the work City of Sanctuary and Stand & Be Counted Theatre does and its mission to nurture communities.
The ability to work as part of a team, taking instruction whilst also working proactively and independently;
Commitment to championing diversity and accessibility at every level of the project with the proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds;
Experience of working across art forms, different venues and/or festival setting;
Knowledge and/or experience of Safeguarding best practices;
Understanding of Health and Safety practices and documentation;
Existing Personal Licence (re event licensing);
